What to investigate
Start with the protocol documentation, legal terms, operator or investor eligibility, custody arrangements, token utility, governance, and the assumptions behind any rewards or yield figures. Treat marketing claims as claims until they are supported by primary documentation and dated evidence.
Risk questions
- What happens if demand, utilization, collateral value, or network activity falls?
- Who controls upgrades, treasury decisions, redemptions, and dispute resolution?
- Which jurisdictions, users, devices, assets, or counterparties are excluded?
- What costs, lockups, slippage, taxes, hardware, maintenance, or legal obligations affect the real outcome?
